The 2018 Take A Swing At Cancer golf tournament will be played on Old Waverly’s new and improved Champion greens. The bent grass greens were replaced with revolutionary Champion Ultradwarf Bermuda grass. The renovations included recontouring the greens built in 1988 and enlarging several by up to 15 percent.
The changes came about as the members and staff wanted the championship course, host of the 1999 US Women’s Open, to maintain its reputation as one of the best courses in the nation. Additionally, the renovations will help the course continue to attract more major events, especially in the warmer months.
Old Waverly’s new greens add to the experience that is Old Waverly.
